Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

This policy explains how we collect and use your personal information when you join the Dutyline early-access list through this website. Dutyline is not yet a live service — at this stage we are only collecting expressions of interest.

Who is responsible for your information

Aaron Lawrence ("we", "us", "Dutyline") is the data controller responsible for your personal information. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at info@dutyline.co.uk.

We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number ZC212883.

What information we collect

When you sign up to our early-access list, we collect:

  • Your email address — which you provide directly.

  • Any information you choose to share in the optional message field (for example, your biggest challenge with Legionella compliance). This field is optional.

  • Basic, aggregate website information — such as approximate visitor numbers, general device or browser type, and how the site is performing. This is collected in a non-identifying way and does not rely on tracking cookies.

We do not collect payment details or any special-category (sensitive) personal data through this website.

Why we use your information, and our lawful basis

  • To contact you about early access to Dutyline and related product updates. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the sign-up box. You can withdraw this consent at any time (see "Your rights").

  • To understand and improve how this website performs. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in operating and improving our website, balanced against your privacy. This uses only aggregate, non-identifying information.

We will not use your email to send you unrelated marketing, and we will not sell your information to anyone.

Who we share your information with

We use trusted third-party service providers ("processors") who handle information on our behalf, strictly under our instructions:

  • Our website and form hosting platform (which stores your sign-up), and

  • Any email delivery tool we use to contact you.

We only share what is necessary, and only for the purposes described above. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your information is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as an adequacy decision or an International Data Transfer Agreement).

How long we keep your information

We keep your sign-up information only for as long as needed to contact you about early access — that is, until we launch and follow up with you, and in any case no longer than 12 months after your last interaction with us, after which we will delete it. You can ask us to remove your information sooner at any time. If you become a customer, a separate customer privacy policy will apply.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct inaccurate information;

  • ask us to delete your information;

  • withdraw your consent at any time (this won't affect anything we did before you withdrew it);

  • object to or restrict how we use your information; and

  • request a copy of your information in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email us at info@dutyline.co.uk. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us.

You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information: ico.org.uk — though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies and analytics

This website is designed to work without non-essential tracking cookies. We use only essential cookies needed for the site to function, together with privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that do not identify you and do not track you across websites.

If in future we introduce any non-essential cookies (for example, analytics tools that identify individual visitors), we will ask for your consent through a cookie notice before setting them. You can always control cookies through your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
